Little Baby Patriot |
|
|
Sweet little patriot babe, dreaming infant
dreams, I hope you wake to velvet nights gilded
with the moon's luminous beams.
May your
days be filled with wondrous gifts from across
the universe; may every journey you undertake
offer joyous paths to traverse.
May war never
wound your soul or adversity furrow your
brow; if only life would allow you to remain
as innocent as you are now...
I wish you
golden puppies, and unicorns with silver wings,
lovely sapphire bluebirds to follow you about and
sing,
brilliant ruby sunrises to warm you on
your way, kaleidoscopes of rainbows to mark the
end of day.
With Father's strength to
cherish you, and Mother's love to nourish you
beneath God's quickening sun, may you be a boon
to all mankind throughout a long life's run...
may gentle seraphim grace your path when
your work, at last, is done. |
