Missing Daddy | |
| July 15th, 2005 is the day we said so long. Daddy had to leave us here, but we knew we could be strong.
We didn't understand why Mommy had to cry. She took us by the hand and tried to tell us why.
Daddy has important work to keep our Country safe. He'll be gone a while but I know you can be brave. See Daddy is helping all the kids, over in Iraq, so they can have a better life, but he will soon be back.
I wrapped my arms around Mom's neck and squeezed her really tight. It's okay Mommy, please don't cry. I know we'll be all right.
Before we knew it, months had passed. We really miss our dad. We miss his hugs and kisses,. How much longer could this last?
My baby sister doesn't know, but I think that she needs dad, to cuddle her and kiss her. She can't remember what she had.
My brother needs his daddy to tuck him in at night. Read a book, say a prayer... that would be just right.
Mommy misses Daddy, I can see it in her eyes. She really works so hard for us. She really really tries. I'm sure it isn't easy, to be the Mommy AND the Dad. She keeps us safe and happy, even when she's feeling sad.
I want my Daddy here with me for many many reasons. He missed Thanksgiving, and my Birthday and even the Christmas Season.
We really want our Dad at home, but he is fighting for our freedom. He's working hard and being brave, and Iraq is where they need him.
Not much longer and he'll be home safe with us to stay, and I will thank him for his selflessness each and every day. | Amber Kroening Copyright 2005 Listed 12/05/2005 * Proud wife of a United States Marine. Mother of 3 -- ages 5, 3, and 7 Months |
