From the sky... a flash of silver, then a rumble, then a roar.
And there, where once the towers stood, t'was empty ever more.
When the dust had settled, and the devastation bared,
The nation stood in anguish, as they prayed some might be spared.
And all the quiet heroes, rose now, as if one.
They gathered cross the country, to do what need be done.
The voices that once echoed, down each hall and on each floor.
Were stilled in final silence, where the towers stood no more.
And time and work erased the scar, t'was left upon our land.
And strangers came together, and extended helping hand.
Years have passed, and with the time the shock of it is left behind.
But there still lives in memory, the vision etched upon our minds.
There, where once our towers stood, and our people's blood was flowing,
We raise our flag; one nation under God, our colors proudly showing. |
