The Journey Of Our Flag |
|
|
I dreamed I saw them marching, Along the dusty road.
Their backs were slumped in tiredness As they carried
their heavy load.
But then I saw a young man And
his face displayed a smile For he proudly raised that
flag While marching another mile.
I dreamed I saw
ships sailing, On waters far away. The vessels they
were warships They were fighting on this day.
But
then I saw a sailor, And on his face a smile For he
proudly raised that flag While sailing the many miles.
I dreamed I saw a jungle And trees all around. The
air hot and sticky Gunfire, the only sound
But
then I saw a soldier And on his face a smile For he
proudly waved that flag Along the jungles aisles
I
dreamed I saw them flying Over deserts far away. They
came to fight the battle On this very day.
But
then I saw her clearly, As she flew from up above.
That flag was there and waving, That flag, the one I
love. |
