In Memory | |
| All around the world, Far across the sea, Our valiant men and women Have fought for liberty, Not only for our nation, But other nations, too, And proudly flown our banner, Our own Red, White and Blue.
And many of them gave their lives Upon the battlefield, Because they felt the cause was just, And simply wouldn't yield, But kept on doing battle With the enemy, So that their brothers and sisters Could once again be free.
They knew the price that they might pay, And knew the cause was just, And knew how precious freedom was, And didn't fight nor lust To conquer men and nations, But to set their people free, Free from chains of bondage, And free from tyranny.
Ever since America Became a free land, And broke its chains of bondage, With Father in command, It became a chosen land, From sea to shining sea, Where people from all nations, Could come and here be free.
Free to worship God above, And free to come and go, And free to bring their loved ones here, So they could also know How it feels to share the pride In the good old USA, And live the life they want to live, While defending it today.
Beneath the foreign soil, Far across the sea, And also in America, This land of liberty, There lies both men and women Who've fought for and who've died, To keep their loved ones safe and free, With Father as their guide,
And we, their benefactors, Should honor them today, And pledge allegiance to the flag Of the good old USA, And thank our Heavenly Father For what they've done for we, Who love this land, America, And love sweet liberty.
It never has been easy, Nor will it ever be, To serve in the Armed Forces, And fight for liberty, But it is necessary To keep this nation free, So you and I may live in peace From sea to shining sea.
Praise God, who is our Father, And praise each patriot, too, Who's proudly served this country, And our Red, White and Blue, And gave it their last measure Of true devotion here, So every last American May live without fear.
And every time you see the flag Waving in the breeze, Place your hand upon your heart, And pause a moment, please, And say a silent prayer for those Who gave that right to you, Who've lived and died for freedom's cause, And our Red, White and Blue. | By James H.
