America, My Safe Home |
| As I sit here on the sidewalk, Watching the parade... Red, white and blue pass by, While I drink my lemonade. And then I stop to think... When there are wars, Men fight for our country. They fight so we can be free. That's you and me! I'm glad we are free, Not being controlled by a king I always think about that thing... that same thing That men never get to see their many friends, And little babies Their families just get letters America is beautiful, its schools and its public pools Kids are good but they really should... Respect the flag and the anthem And have no tantrums! I am glad I can lie down at night Knowing I won't wake up to a nasty fight
