America, I Love You | |
|
I love this land, America, From sea to shining sea,
And love our flag, Old Glory, And America's history.
I love the freedom we enjoy, And those in uniform,
Who've fought for freedom in the past, To keep us free
from harm,
I love the Constitution, And what it
stands for here, And all the other documents Which
are, to Americans, dear.
I love to see Old Glory
Waving in the breeze, And feel the pride within my
heart, And want to fall on my knees,
And thank our
Heavenly Father For freedoms we enjoy, As free
American citizens, Since I was just a boy.
America, America, God bless the U. S. A, And bless
the men and women Who keep us free today.
Free
from chains of bondage, And free from tyranny, And
free to worship God above, From sea to shining sea.
And may it be ever thus, A land of liberty, A
land filled with patriots Who love it, just like me. | By James H. Lee, Jr.
