Astronaut Performs First Spacewalk August 31, 2019
August 21, 2019 - West Point graduate, physician and NASA astronaut Andrew Morgan works with fellow astronaut Nick Hague (not shown) outside the International Space Station during a six-hour and 32-minute spacewalk (Morgan's first) to install the orbiting lab’s second commercial crew vehicle docking port, the International Docking Adapter-3 (IDA-3) to the Pressurized Mating Adapter-3 on the space-facing side of the station’s Harmony module. Boeing's CST-100 Starliner and SpaceX's Crew Dragon spacecraft will dock at the adapters in the near future when bringing astronauts to the station as part of NASA's Commercial Crew Program.
