Talisman Sabre Formation July 12, 2019
July 11, 2019 - The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) leads the Royal Australian Navy Canberra-class landing helicopter dock HMAS Canberra (L02) in the center and the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS McCampbell (DDG 85) at the tail of their formation with the 'out of scene' Los Angeles-class attack submarine USS Key West (SSN 722) shadowing them on their left in the Tasman Sea (South Pacific Ocean) during Talisman Sabre 2019. Talisman Sabre is a bilateral, biennial event off the coast of Northern Australia designed to improve U.S. and Australian combat training, readiness and interoperability through realistic, relevant training necessary to maintain regional security, peace and stability.
