USS Chief Honors World War II Fallen

March 23, 2019 - Lt. Cmdr. Fred Crayton (center), commanding officer of the Avenger class mine countermeasures ship USS Chief (MCM 14), Executive Officer Lt. Cmdr. Joshua Cowart (left), and Command Senior Chief Patrick Lampley salute with fellow sailors at attention during a wreath-laying ceremony at the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial in Manila, Philippines, to honor the Filipino and American service members who lost their lives in World War II. Chief is visiting Manila while operating in U.S. 7th Fleet’s area of operations to work with their Philippine Navy counterparts to strengthen regional security and stability, and enhance interoperability.
