Launch and Recovery Aboard USS John C. Stennis January 15, 2019
January 11, 2019 - Lt. Justin Otto, an aircraft
launch and recovery officer aboard the aircraft carrier USS John C.
Stennis (CVN 74), observes an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter assigned to
Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 14 take off from the flight
deck in the Arabian Gulf. The John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group
is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of
naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the
Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through
the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
