February 15, 2017 - A U.S. Air Force 492nd Fighter Squadron’s F-15E Strike Eagle takes off from Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England. The 492nd Fighter Squadron trains regularly to ensure RAF Lakenheath brings unique air combat capabilities to the fight that involves executing strategic attack, interdiction, and counter air missions in support of United States Air Forces in Europe, United States European Command, and NATO operations. The 492nd Fighter Squadron employs the full array of air superiority and surface attack munitions to include the most advanced precision-guided weapons in the USAF inventory.
