Wellons, commanding officer of Marine Aviation Weapons and
Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1), left, presents Maj. Casey
Nelson, an MV-22B Osprey pilot for MAWTS-1, the 2015 Exceptional
Pilot Award at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Arizona. Nelson displayed such service by
directing and coordinating a humanitarian aid mission in Nepal
after being hit with earthquakes. The Exceptional
Pilot Award is issued to a pilot from each military service by
the Daedalians
Foundation, an advocate for air and space power and honor
