KANEOHE BAY, Hawaii (July 14, 2015) - U.S. Navy Lt. Christopher Malherek, assigned to the "Golden Eagles" of Patrol Squadron (VP) 9, pilots a P-3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft during a routine training flight for the squadron's advanced readiness program. VP-9 is involved in preparations for their inter-deployment readiness cycle, conducting exercises and maintenance to maximize operational performance and efficiency.
