September 2, 2013 - Several crew members who were on board the USS Missouri during the signing of the Instrument of Surrender and the artists who created the nine-foot bronze sculpture of Fleet Admiral Chester Nimitz. Nimitz, take part in a traditional Hawaiian blessing for the statute of the commander in chief for the U.S. Pacific Fleet from Dec. 31, 1941, to Nov. 24, 1945. Admiral Nimitz was in charge of Naval forces that lead to victory in the Pacific. (U.S. Navy
