SAN DIEGO (Aug 22, 2012) - An AV-8B Harrier assigned to Marine Attack Squadron 513 prepares to take off from the flight deck aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8). USS Makin Island is conducting routine operations off the coast of Southern California.
