Please meet Landon... His dad, Marine Lance Cpl. Andrew P. Carpenter
(27) made the ultimate sacrifice on February 19, 2011 while serving with
the 3/8 in Afghanistan ... a
month before his son was born.
Photo taken around April 1, 2011 and courtesy of Inara
Studios and Landon's mother
David Bancroft, USA Patriotism! founder and "father" of a
Marine veteran son, who served in Iraq...
The photo of
little Landon sleeping innocently between his fallen father's photo and
combat boots on the warm comfort of his daddy's uniform shirt . . .
profoundly captures my emotions . . . that words can never properly
convey! It is a beautiful, poignant forever memory of little Landon's
daddy's ultimate sacrifice . . . and also represents a heartfelt symbol
for all the little ones of fallen heroes past, present, and yet to
come!"
Message from photographer, Marcia, with Inara
Studios...
"There are days when the honor of being a
photographer is elevated to a whole new level.
Landon was just 12
days old when I met him for the first time. Just a few weeks before he
was born, the unbelievable happened: his daddy passed away while serving
his country in Afghanistan. It breaks my heart to think that Landon will
never have the opportunity to meet his daddy, this side of heaven, but I
am so thankful for men like him who willingly risk their lives for our
safety ...
I am honored that Landon's mother has generously chosen
to share it publicly through numerous interviews and blog posts. Neither
of us ever imagined that so many people would be touched by his story.
We have received so many emails, comments and phone calls from men and
women all over the country. Thank you for your love and support of this
sweet family."
