Marines with Heavy Marine Helicopter Squadron 466 fly CH-53 Sea Stallions carrying first responders of the San Francisco Bay Area past the Golden Gate Bridge on their way to the USS Bonhomme Richard, Oct. 5, 2011.

Members of the police department, fire department and emergency management team visited the USS Bonhomme Richard to witness Navy-Marine Corps capabilities in the case of a natural disaster.

The ship ported hours later to kick off Fleet Week and to showcase the equipment, personnel and the ability of the Marine Corps to respond to crisis.
