SHAWNEETOWN, Ill. -- Members of a Coast Guard Disaster Area Response Team rescue residents from a flooded neighborhood located in the New Madrid Floodway, May 2, 2011.

The Coast Guard is working with the Army Corps of Engineers and states and local agencies to minimize damage to property, structures and to help save lives from historic flood levels.
