ceremonial cake-cutting at the Pentagon, June 14, 2010, to mark the
235th birthday of the United States Army. Gates is joined by Army Chief
of Staff Gen. George Casey to the left and Secretary of the Army John M.
McHugh and Sergeant Major of the Army Kenneth O. Preston to the right.
As tradition dictates, the oldest soldier serving in the Military
District of Washington Col. Wittich, far left, and the youngest PVT
Noland, far right, joined the dignitaries for the celebration.
