U.S. Army Spc. James Kosciaski scans the area for possible threats during Operation Mufa-Ja'ah, a combined air assault mission, in the town of Shakkat, Iraq, July 31, 2009. The operation was conducted to ensure enemy forces were not using the rural areas outside eastern Baghdad as a site to store weapons.Kosciaski is an infantryman assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division's Company D, 1st Battalion 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, Multinational Division Baghdad.
