During the Memorial Day 5K Run at a camp in the Middle East, U.S. Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Kelli Roesch wears a sign honoring Air Force 1st. Lt. Roslyn Schulte, who died May 20 in Afghanistan due to a roadside bomb. Roesch trained with Schulte at Ft. Lewis, Wash., prior to their transfer to separate locations in the Middle East. "First Lt. Schulte was a great officer and even better person whose loss is rippling across many friends and fellow servicemembers who knew and admired her.
