Lt. Cmdr. David Kohnen, a member of the Armed
Forces Inaugural Committee (AFIC), meets U.S. President-elect Barack
Obama in Washington. AFIC carries on a tradition, which dates back
more than 200 years, of honoring the new commander in chief and
recognizing civilian control of the military. AFIC is a
joint-service organization responsible for providing military
ceremonial support to the 56th Presidential Inauguration, which will
take place on Jan. 20, 2009. U.S. Coast
