Live acoustic performance of Last Fallen Hero, the
song that was axed by PBS from their 2002 Capitol
4th TV special. PBS thought the song was too serious
and didn't match the Yankee Doodle Dandy spirit of
the show.
Charlie pulled out because he felt
it was important to honor our troops on the first
4th of July after 9/11.
Many local PBS
stations aired this video of the song before the
Capitol July 4th show.
"The Last Fallen Hero" by the Charlie Daniels Band
is one of the best tribute songs for our beloved
America's brave, honorable troops ... And its video of their acoustic performance is very moving
with Charlie Daniels' emotions quite evident in his
