"This
song video is dedicated to all the men and women who
have gave their lives for each and every one of us, and
any families or friends that have been personally
affected by war." Bobby Billings
"This song, "21 Guns", was first
written as a poem by my friend Alan Gragg from Lenoir,
NC. He was inspired by watching news footage from a
soldiers funeral on CNN. I took it and changed some
words, wrote some music, and created the melody."Bobby Billings
21 Guns Lyrics
21 guns will sound today, 21 guns.
You can hear a mother pray, for her only son.
As they lay him down to rest,
In the evening sun.
Hope the whole world, will hear the sound,
Of the 21 guns.
Lord he didn't want to go,
But duty called,
For his family and his country, yeah he'd give all.
A landmine in the sand, that wasn't seen.
Took away his life and all of his dreams.
21 guns will sound today, 21 guns.
You can hear a mother pray, for her only son.
Mama didn't take it quite so well,
To see her son was dead and blown all to hell.
But she prayed salvation for her son,
As she cussed the day that the war begun.
21 guns will sound today, 21 guns.
You can hear a mother pray, for her only son.
As they wrapped him in the flag,
She knew his time was done.
Hope the world heard the sound,
Of the 21 guns
Repeat-
Hope the world heard the sound,
Of the 21 guns
