In 1993 retired Col. Dave Olds, who was with the Boy Scouts of
America, commissioned Rebecca J. Huseby to write and perform the inspiring "Blaze of Glory" song for the official flag burning ceremony (when
a flag becomes damaged, torn, faded or stained). And while Col. Olds received
Blaze of Glory's original recording, the song officially received
its copyright from the Library of Congress in 2003.
