Night Strike country as flag
An explosion wakes the camp
I roll into my foxhole
M203 in hand
Find my IR goggles

They're out there somewhere
Flight crews to their birds
Engines start
Apaches and Blackhawks lift
Flyboys are away to safety

Another explosion
Too small to be artillery
Mortars
They are close but where
They need a clearing to fire from
Red flashlight check the map
A clearing three kilometers away
Paladin to Gunslinger One
Clearing three kilometers east of base
Roger, Paladin

Out of sight the Apaches strike
Explosions stop
Gunslinger One, you got them
It looks that way
They may have just slipped away.

Short march to the clearing
Five men primed for a fight
Empty clearing
Only the holes from the Apaches

They must have gotten away.
